Yifan is an artist exploring the metamorphosis of cultural memory through fragile materiality. Working primarily with glass, her practice interrogates how inherited symbols—from traditional Chinese motifs to gendered domestic patterns—mutate under capitalist consumption.
Merging meticulous handicraft with mechanized reproduction, the artist creates installations where nostalgia crystallizes into precarious monuments. Recurring themes of fractured femininity, decorative violence, and embodied labor emerge through layered glass surfaces that both seduce and unsettle, mirroring society’s obsession with packaging authenticity into consumable aesthetics.
